The Chase – Chapter 1

“Without a doubt, this is a high-end party, but you need this. The entire Bollywood would be present, and the cricket team, so too much fun to miss and a sure-shot work opportunity for you. You need to mingle with this crowd if you want work. We both know you need this.”

Ray, my boss, had been chewing my ear off about this mega-magnetic party. I couldn’t do this alone. I needed someone with me, and Aisha needed work. She would go insane if she had to stay another day at home. So, win-win for both of us. I wasn’t nervous. This type of environment wasn’t new to me, but today, I felt anxious because I was on a mission, and the thought that I could fail was churning inside my stomach.

Failure meant going back home, and I didn’t want that.

“Hmm… but…”

“Aisha, get your ass off that bed and start getting ready. We are going to the party. I have some work to do, but later I am all yours. What’s the problem with you? Normally you are so confident, but today you are acting weird.” I snapped out, unable to control myself.

“I don’t want to make things uncomfortable for you.”

“Are you still hooked on that last party? We all have bad days. Get ready.”

“Tisha, I embarrassed you in front of everyone.”

“Yes, you did, but that’s in past tense now. I live in the present and future. Also, we shouldn’t forget that we have the most fun whenever you embarrass us. Even if it is you taking your top off while standing on the counter.” I winked.

Aisha groaned and hid her face in her hands. I chuckled but stayed silent until she returned from her self-pity.

“Are you sure?” she asked, her voice muffled as her hands still hid her face.

“One hundred percent. We both need this. I need this contract, and you need a new modeling assignment.” I declared.

Aisha’s shoulder hitched in a shrug, and I gave a high-five in my head.

“Cool. Don’t say I didn’t warn you.”

I grinned. Why would I say that?

Aisha was a walking item bomb, and I loved when she transformed a dull party alive. Throwing a pillow on her that she caught efficiently, I saw her crawl to the edge of the bed and stand. Our conversation ended as we both got busy getting ready.

Tisha and Aisha are perfect besties who seem to have each others back. The confusion that it comes with regarding her dismantled family. The chapter was perfect

Loved the chapter 1 and the bond Tisha and Aisha shares. Excited to see how the party scene goes and the entry of the male protagonist, Aayansh Ahluwalia 💗 😍
Absolutely enjoyed the conversation between mother and daughter. Curious to know about Tisha’s secrets.
Overall loved the first chapter 🤩
