I nodded as I got the thumbs up from the security, but another pair of guys came forward. I showed them the invitation, which they scanned.
“Tisha Chopra?” the guy asked. I nodded. I hadn’t mentioned Aisha’s name, and now I was scared. I hoped she didn’t have to return. Damn, I won’t let her return. I will create a scene, but we will go in together.
“Your name, ma’am?”
“Do I look like a ma’am to you?” Aisha barked.
“Aisha…” I groaned but continued calmly. “She is Aisha Bajwa.”
“You should have added her name by using the QR code.”
“Are you serious?”
“No problem, I will do it for you.”
“Age?” he asked.
I controlled my laughter as Aisha’s mouth opened in shock.
“Do you have any manners? You don’t ask a girl’s age.”
The guy sighed. Aisha got out before I could stop her and started talking animatedly, her hands moving all over as she explained her rights.
Five minutes later, she opened the door and got in.
“What way are we going?”
“What?”
“In or out?”
“In, of course. Hand me your phone. They will return it later.”
I already knew that, so I passed mine without argument. Aisha glared at the guys as she handed him our phones. I smiled at the cute one, and he bowed his head, but his eyes kept going to Aisha. He peeped inside, and now I rolled my eyes.
Aisha again started with her monologue, and the guy put his hand in the air and stepped back. Bowing once, he asked us to enter.
“Oh, Aisha. Did I say I love you?”
“You did.”
“Did I say I so wish I was a lesbian?”
Aisha laughed and squeezed me. “You don’t have to. I see it in your eyes.” Aisha winked, and I chuckled, shaking my head.
The security had his eyes on Aisha as I pressed the accelerator. But because of the cars ahead of us, we were just crawling. It was good, though. I got to see around.
I turned to Aisha and saw her speechless, mouth wide open and eyes blinking rapidly.
The view was undoubtedly magnificent. Aayansh had got his Punjab here. At least we had something in common. That should give me a boost to get my work done today.
